PAIN/PLEASURE

PAIN/PLEASURE is a series of artwork descripting my own unique experiences with sexual assault, sexual trauma, the toxicity of hookup culture, and my own self-destructive sexual tendencies. Like every woman, I have experienced my share of uncomfortability and trauma with sexual relationships. Nowadays, with hookup culture more vibrant than ever, these experiences run rampant. From cheaters to assaulters, partners and strangers, my experiences have been stamped on my view of sexual relationships, and it took a series of traumatic incidents for me to take a step back from this culture, and ultimately the concept of dating as a whole. I have heard things that would disgust and break the hearts of the previous girlfriends of these men, experienced things that would make their families disown them, and have been violated by different men in different ways, including a long term partner of mine. I have experienced fetishism as overweight and healthy, passive and aggressive, and the fact remains the same: violation knows no distinction.
